Consumption market
During the last 10 years the consumption market of the Republic of Adygeya changed considerably. The architecture of trade enterprises and public catering establishments improved, their interior changed for the better, the range of consumer goods broadened. The forms of ownership of these enterprises are also changing. 135 trade enterprises are privatized (21 of them are public catering establishments) which accounts for 27% of privatized enterprises all spheres of national economy.
The situation at the consumption market altered either. Commodity turnover in 2000 accounted for 2778 million roubles. With allowance, made for comparable prices, it increased by 11,8% against of the previous year.
In the turnover pattern of the retail trade the volume of goods sold by private enterprises increased. In 2000 93% of the retail trade was formed in non-state sector (consumer cooperation including) and only 7% in state-owned sector.
For the last few years the sales of manufactured good predominated in the republic trade. In 1992-94 years the volume of foodstuffs sales in the turnover pattern increased from 50% to 54%, beginning from 1995 there was tendency to decrease. In August 1998 under the conditions of the jumps of price for consumer goods the demand shift was directed to foodstuffs.
The total sales of alcohol products in 2000 accounted for 148,8 million roubles, that is 5,3% of retail turnover. Physical production index was 96,4%
The stable satiation of consumption market with the main consumer goods started to perform at the expense of import with some decrease in 1999. At the end of 2000 the import share of foodstuffs constituted 6% and manufactured goods 14%. It happened due to the strengthening of Russian producers' positions at the consumption market.
The total turnover of the whole scale trade in 2000 was 2555,1 million roubles, at that the turnover of the enterprises of whole scale was 1900 million roubles, which accounted for 74,5% of the total volume.
Exhibition-fair activity is the effective mechanism for the interaction between the processing industries and trade and for the stabilization of consumption market. Republic trade enterprises take active part in many exhibitions and fairs hold in the Northern Caucasus regions as well as in the other subjects of Russian Federation. Trade House of the Republic of Adygeya in Moscow uniting 36 processing enterprises adds a lot to provide for advertising. The program of wine production with the trade mark of Joint-Stock Company "Trade House of RA" is being realized.
